Motoring Law

The staff in our motoring law department have a wealth of experience in driving offences ranging from speeding all the way up to motor homicide.

At Brian Jackson & Co, Solicitors, we treat every case individually and we know how important your licence is to you.

If you have received a ticket or a Notice of Intended Prosecution or the police want to speak to you, contact our motoring law department as soon as possible who can give you advice and assistance and represent you in court should it be necessary.

NB For certain motoring matters you may qualify for legal aid.

PRIVATE CLIENT WORK

All private client court work is conducted by one of our in-house Solicitors, all of whom have at least 5 years PQE and experience in motoring matters.  All work is supervised by our Principal, Brian Jackson.

The key stages (below) are based on the presumption that you have a date for a hearing.

You will meet with your solicitor to provide instructions on what happened.

We will consider initial disclosure, any other evidence and provide advice.  If necessary, we will arrange to take statements from witnesses.

We will explain the court procedure to you, so you know what to expect on the day of your hearing. We will advise on the sentencing options available to the court.

We will conduct any preparatory work, obtain further instructions from you if necessary and answer any follow-up queries you have.

We cannot provide a time that your hearing will actually take place, as this depends on the court listings on that day.

Your solicitor will discuss the matter with you on the day of the hearing, before you go before the court.

We will discuss the outcome with you, and the merits of any appeal (if necessary).

If necessary, we will discuss the additional cost of conducting an appeal.
